Career advice and additional wrap-around support for young people who left school without completing year 12.
Career Advice Service for early school leavers.
If you recently left school without completing Year 12, the VELCI Career Advice Service is available to help you. Sometimes the change from secondary school to another education, training, or work pathway can be challenging. The Career Advice Service will help you keep pursuing education, training, or work that fits your strengths and interests.
The Career Advice Service includes:
- Regular check-ins
- career, training, and education advice sessions with a qualified career counsellor
- somebody to call or text when you have questions or need guidance
- assistance with making appointments at other organisations.
Where do I access the VELCI Career Advice Service?
- Through your school, you can be referred to or connected directly to the service when you leave.
- Self-referral, you can contact the South West Skills and Jobs Centres yourself to book an appointment.
Additional support may be available to early school leavers who are First Nations, have a disability, or are facing mental health challenges. You can get help tailored to you, such as 1-on-1 mentoring and group activities to help you reach your goals.
